Radiation Protection Supervisor
The course provides PET-CT and Nuclear Medicine staff with the knowledge, understanding and skillset to undertake an RPS role within your organisation, as detailed in the HSE’s Ionising Radiation Protection Series No. 6 information sheet.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the hazards and risks of working with ionising radiation.
- Describe the legislative requirements for safely working with ionising radiation.
- Identify and apply suitable control measures in your workplace.
- Demonstrate the competence and readiness to effectively fulfil the responsibilities of a radiation protection supervisor.
- Analyse the modality-specific risks and control measures.
- Identify the relevant sections of Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and the approved code of practice.
