Duration: 2 hours (theory); 1 day (workshop)

This course takes a blended learning approach that combines a theory component on our e-learning platform with attending a face-to-face simulation training assessment. You can attend the face-to-face simulation training assessment either in person at The Christie in our state-of-the-art clinical training centre, or virtually.

Please note, if you have no prior experience of cannulating, please book onto an in-person simulation training assessment.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop the necessary skills to effectively perform IV Cannulations and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Discuss vein and venous assessments.
  • Develop an awareness of quality patient care and management, including complications, anaphylaxis, and ongoing care.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and clean up radioactive spills.

Note

Before you book onto an in-person or virtual simulation training assessment, please consult with your manager to ensure you meet the pre-requisites such as ILS and Hep B Immunity.
