IV Cannulation and Administration of Radiopharmaceuticals for Clinical Assistants

This course takes a blended learning approach that combines a theory component on our e-learning platform with attending a face-to-face simulation training assessment. You can attend the face-to-face simulation training assessment either in person at The Christie in our state-of-the-art clinical training centre, or virtually.
Please note, if you have no prior experience of cannulating, please book onto an in-person simulation training assessment.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop the necessary skills to effectively perform IV Cannulations and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
- Discuss vein and venous assessments.
- Develop an awareness of quality patient care and management, including complications, anaphylaxis, and ongoing care.
- Develop the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and clean up radioactive spills.
